New partnership to advance equitable access to sexual and reproductive health products

UNFPA, United Nations Population Fund, has received a grant of $4.59 million from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to advance its procurement and supply chain management capacity in 2024 and 2025. The partnership aims to equip UNFPA with the necessary tools and expertise to respond effectively to evolving global challenges and advance equitable access to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) products.
The funding aligns with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation ongoing commitment of up to $100 million to the UNFPA Supplies Partnership, announced earlier this year, which aims to advance access to quality family planning services and essential SRH products for women, girls, and young people worldwide.
"This grant marks a significant milestone in the UNFPA supply chain management journey. It will empower us to enhance the supply and delivery of affordable, high-quality SRH products to the communities we serve.” said Karen Hong, Chief, UNFPA Supply Chain Management Unit.
Building upon the established track record in the UNFPA Supply Chain Management Unit, this partnership will further advance a responsive, resilient, and ready supply chain system to address the evolving SRH needs.
