EvalYouth and the UNFPA Evaluation Office have teamed up to develop the capacity of young and emerging evaluators and strengthen advocacy and promote participation of young people in evaluation around the world. The collaboration will also enhance access to the labour market for young evaluators.
This partnership is particularly significant as young leaders meet up at the 2019 ECOSOC Youth Forum (8-9 April 2019), to discuss among other issues, youth participation, in monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
EvalYouth is a global network of more than 20,000 young and emerging evaluators. It promotes the inclusion of young people, particularly young women, in evaluations at all levels. EvalYouth also strives to build a cadre of well-qualified young and emerging evaluators who strengthen evaluation capacities at national, regional and global levels.
This collaboration is in line with the commitment of UNFPA Evaluation Office to meaningfully engage young people in evaluation and empower capacities of young and emerging evaluators to drive sustainable development, as articulated in the UNFPA Evaluation Policy 2019.
