Available! Guidance on integrating social and environmental standards into evaluations

17 Aug 2022

The convergence of unprecedented mega crises - climate emergency, extreme weather, conflict, hunger, displacement, a global pandemic - has deeply affected women and girls that are the furthest behind. Moreover, the crises are reversing the gains made towards accelerating the ICPD agenda and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Evaluations that mainstream human rights, equity, gender equality, disability inclusion, leaving no one behind and environmental dimensions can provide robust evidence and lessons to support decision making and sustainable programming.

Delivering on this vision, and marking the World Humanitarian Day 2022, the UNFPA Evaluation Office has released a new guidance integrating social and environmental standards into evaluations. The guidance aligns with the UNFPA strategic plan, 2022-2025, that amplifies the attention to social and environmental standards, through systematic mainstreaming of social and environmental sustainability in programme design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
