All women have a right to bodily autonomy, the power and agency to make decisions governing their own bodies and futures, yet nearly half of women in 57 developing countries are denied that right.
UNFPA Executive Director Dr. Natalia Kanem takes part in the virtual debate “Let’s Talk About Sex: Bodily Autonomy and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights” with Flemming Møller Mortensen, Danish Minister for International Development and Nordic Cooperation, and Natasha Wang Mwansa, adolescent sexual and reproductive health rights expert. Katja Iversen will moderate, and two-time world champion poet and UNCHR Goodwill Ambassador Emi Mahmoud will introduce the event, meant to inspire taking action toward gender equality around the world.
This Nordic Talk is sponsored by the Nordic Council of Ministers and organized by businessman Henrik Schramm Rasmussen and gender equality advocate Katja Iversen in partnership with UNFPA, UN Women, Sex & Samfund, The Danish Mission to the United Nations, and Generation Equality.
