A costed evaluation plan is a strategic tool for planning evaluations that are feasible, prioritized and cost-effective. Aligned with the country or regional programme cycles, the costed evaluation plan is annexed to programme documents submitted for Executive Board approval. It also serves as a valuable tool for monitoring the implementation of evaluation activities and ensuring adequate funding for high-quality and credible evaluations.
The guide for the development, monitoring and revision of the costed evaluation plan outlines the process and delineates the roles of country and regional offices, and the IEO. It also provides guidance on budgetary considerations, effective management practices, and includes a template to prepare a costed evaluation plan.
